Gift and bookshop
The Cité du Train gift and bookshop invites you to prolong your discovery of the history of the railway, from its conception in the sixteenth century to how it is evolving now at the beginning of the twenty-first century.
Here, you will find a wide selection of books, postcards, DVDs, decorative objects, jewellery, T-shirts and fashion items inspired by the world of the railway and the museum collection. A designated “collectors” area offers a selection of models, miniatures and beautiful books for all train enthusiasts.
Our range of personalised items will also allow you to take unique memories of your visit to the Cité du Train away with you. A selection of model trains, as well as a large number of exciting games and toys, will allow children to make their own train track or impressive locomotives.
The gift and bookshop is open everyday and has the same opening hours as the site.

On entering the museum, all visitors are offered the use of a free audioguide, which allows them to listen to the commentaries in their own language, as well as the film voice-overs of the Animated Presentation.
In the “Adventure of the Railways” part of the museum, the audioguide allows visitors to select and listen to specific commentaries about the various locomotives and carriages that represent the most significant moments in the history of the railways.
The audioguide is like a personal guide, and with several levels of commentary available, it allows everyone to discover the Cité du Train at their leisure.
On entry to the site, a free booklet is provided to all children between the ages of 7 and 12. This booklet contains a fun questionnaire designed to help them discover the Cité du Train whilst having fun. This treasure hunt takes them across the museum in search of hidden clues to discover the history of the railway.
