Should I book my visit online before going to the museum?Online booking is not mandatory to access the museum. You can buy your tickets at the museum cash desks on the day of your visit. To book your tickets online: citedutrain.com/billetterie

What are the payment options available ?It is possible to pay for your ticket at the museum cash desks by bank card, bank cheque, cash, holiday vouchers and Vitrines de Mulhouse vouchers. More info at citedutrain.com/tarifs

Can I get a refund for a ticket?The sale of entrance tickets or services is considered to be the sale of services and leisure activities and does not entitle you to any withdrawal period. Tickets are neither refundable nor resalable. Nevertheless, when buying your tickets online on our site, buyer cancellation insurance is offered. Optional and optional, it insures you against being unable to use your tickets on the chosen day. I am coming with friends, can we benefit from the group rate?Unfortunately not, because a group is a set of at least 20 people belonging to a community (school, leisure center, works council, association, tourism professional, etc. ). We are a group, do we need to book in advance?It is not necessary to book if you wish to take a self-guided tour. However, this is mandatory for guided tours. Book your group visit at citedutrain.com/groups

Does the museum offer combined tickets with other museums or associations?Extend your visit to the Electropolis Museum (opposite the Cité du Train) and become an expert on the history of electricity. Want to go for a ride aboard a real steam train, just 15 minutes from the museum? Is entry to the Cité du Train free for those under 26?NO. However, the Cité du Train is free for children under 4 years old. As the museum is private, it does not apply this specific system to national museums. A reduced rate is nevertheless applied to students up to and including 26 years old (11€ instead of 14€) More info at citedutrain.com/tarifs

What are the opening days and times of the museum?The museum is open every day of the year (except December 25) January to March: 10am-5pm April to October: 10am-6pm November to December: 10am-5pm Please note that the outdoor area of the museum (Panorama Ferroviaire) closes 30 minutes before the museum's closing time. How long does it take to visit the Cité du Train?Due to its size (3 exhibition spaces, 60,000m²), we advise you to devote at least 2 hours to visiting the museum. It is of course possible to spend more time there since entertainment is offered throughout the day. Is it possible to exit and enter several times in the same day with my ticket?In order to facilitate flow management and minimize queues, every exit from the museum is final.

Are there games or entertainment for children?To introduce your children to the Cité du Train, the museum offers them a set of free activities throughout the year (games booklet available on request at reception, riddle hunts on the SAM! mobile app, rolling railway animations.. .) Can we visit the interior of the exhibited trains?Certain materials on display can be visited freely. This is the case of a passenger car and a metro motor car in the Parcours Spectacle as well as a steam locomotive driver's cab platform in Les Quais de l 'History. The rest of the materials on display are not freely accessible during your visit for conservation, accessibility and security reasons. Does the museum have parking?Ample parking is available in front of the museum (free but not guarded).

We are coming as a group with a coach, is there suitable parking?A free car park with several spaces allows you to park without having to make a reservation. This car park opposite the entrance to the museum, near the Electropolis museum.

Can we come with a motorhome?Yes, it is quite possible to park your motorhome in the museum car park during its opening hours. Outside the opening hours of the museum car park, spaces in the immediate vicinity can be used.

Is the museum accessible to people with reduced mobility?People with reduced mobility can move around the museum. Some train interiors, visible from platforms, are however not accessible. The museum also has adapted toilets.

Are animals allowed in the museum?With the exception of guide dogs for the blind or assistance accompanying people with motor or mental disabilities, pets are not accepted on the property.

Is it possible to take photos or film?YES. The use of camera or video camera is authorized inside the museum when the images taken are for private use. Use of our logo is prohibited without prior written permission from us. The same goes for the capture of images where museum staff would appear. Any filming or professional photo shoot must be subject to prior authorization from the Cité du Train, an agreement and the payment of a fee. Contact Us

Can we eat in the museum?The Cité du Train has its own restaurant ("Le Mistral"), right in the heart of the museum. You can enjoy burgers, cooked dishes, but also regional recipes in a unique atmosphere, in the middle of railway photos and train models. Finally, several picnic areas are available on the outside of the museum. However, it is forbidden to eat in the exhibition halls. For more information, see “Restore”.

Can I eat or have a picnic inside the museum?In high season, picnic tables are available in the outdoor area of the museum (Panorama Ferroviaire).

Can we smoke in the museum?Smoking is not permitted inside the museum. However, in outdoor areas (Panorama Railway, restaurant terrace), it is allowed. The ban on smoking inside the museum also applies, as a precautionary principle, to electronic cigarettes.
